If you read the warning and still want to try it, here’s how you can enable playing videos on Android Auto.

Unlocking the video playing on Android Auto

Thanks to Kiran Kumar, the genius behind the CarStream app (previously YouTube Auto), users can now install and use a video player on their Android Auto. The player can have translations to allow its users to use other various languages.

Install CarStream first and then download it here. In the list, look for YouTube Auto.

To utilize the full functionality of this application, you must download the Car Stream App and the Android Auto app.

To install the Android Auto YouTube, you can check the following instructions or the video below.

For those of you who prefer the written instructions, consider the following steps:

Android Auto YouTube installation steps

  1. Download the Android Auto and car stream applications from Google Play store
  2. Once you have installed the Android Auto, launch it on your home screen
  3. Click the hamburger menu displayed on the top left corner of the application

  5. Tap the About Android Auto button multiple times on the window that has opened

Use the CASDK Framework

CASDK is a framework that can allow a developer to write and use custom applications by integrating with the JCI framework. To install the framework, you need to run it from your SD card. This will allow all native AIO apps to run on the CASDK framework.

Using the CASDK framework has no impact on the performance of your system. Also, you do not have to worry about the safety of your Android Auto system.

The CASDK includes a couple of features such as:

  • A proxy that can register the AIO apps and CASDK
  • Android Debug Bridge for your Android Device
  • Storage location movement to data-persist storage
  • Capacity to run all Custom Applications

Install the inCar App

It is an alternative to the Android hacker. It allows users to use an Apple CarPlay on their Android Auto and enjoy the wide range of interfaces that the app has to offer. Installing it does not have a lot of hassle since it is available on Google Play Store.

What’s more interesting about the app is its capacity to launch in a landscape mode. This offers the opportunity to operate the Android Auto app on a large touchscreen.

Besides the decision to use these hacks, it is recommended to avoid using them while driving as it may distract you. Take the necessary precautions to reduce the possibility of putting yourself and your family at risk.

Is CarStream not working?

Unfortunately, every now and then we have small issues with technology. Sometimes it’s big and other times it’s just a little detail.

If you are having trouble and CarStream not working, please check out the Kiran Kumar’s page, its creator’s site. Scroll down and you’ll find specific instructions for many situations.
