Installing Android Auto on your phone

Now for the Android Auto app. Click the link to find the Android Auto app on Google’s Play Store.

In case you don’t find it on the Play Store or if it says that the app is not compatible with your phone, don’t worry. Although it’s not officially available worldwide you can still get it.

Installing CarStream on your phone (previously known as YouTube Auto)

Download CarStream here and install it. In the list, look for YouTube Auto.

Unlocking the video playing on Android Auto

  1. Download and install the Android Auto app as mentioned before;
  2. Download and install the CarStream application;
  3. Once you have installed both of them, launch Android Auto;
  4. Click the hamburger menu displayed on the top left corner of the application;
  5. Tap the button indicated as About Android Auto;
  6. Tap the gear icon on the top right corner;
  7. Now scroll all the way down and tap the version information until the Developer Mode is enabled;
  8. Click the menu button and tap on the developers setting button;
  9. The version information will expand with new information;
  10. Press the three dots on the top right corner and tap Developer Mode settings;
  11. Activate the Unknown Resources box and set your video quality at 720p or 1080p respectively;
  12. Launch the CarStream app;
  13. Start watching YouTube videos on your Android Auto.

Use the CASDK Framework
