In this article, we’ll be focusing on Honda cars with Android Auto. Over the years, technology has advanced in every part of human life, and automobiles are no exception. Technology has changed our mobility with the invention of cars.

Now it is playing a role in our activities in our cars and how we interact with people, entertainment, and the digital world.

In a fast-paced world, staying connected digitally is important, and not any less when you’re driving your car.

The Honda brand is aware of this, which prompted the company to equip its vehicles with the latest digital connectivity for automobiles: Android Auto.

Android Auto is the intelligent infotainment system that allows drivers to perform all their basic smartphone tasks on the honda display audio system without touching their phones or taking their eyes off the road, all through a voice command.

It is such a heavily touted system thanks to its Google Assistant capability that allows drivers to send and receive text messages, make hands-free phone calls, play music, and listen to the news, and their favorite audiobooks, all without taking their hands off the steering wheel.

Android Auto system is essentially a help system that transfers the driver’s Android device info and features to their car – in this case, their Honda car.

Honda Accord (2016 – 2020)

Android Auto™ was announced for the Honda Accord model in 2015 as part of the 2016 Honda Accord’s mid-cycle refresh. It came with a 7-inch display audio screen that supported touch, swipe, tap and pinch functions.

Honda Civic (2016 – 2020)

Android Auto™ integration is available on the EX, EX-L. Sport, Touring, and Sport Touring variants of the Honda Civic.

It is also available on the special editions Civic Si and Type-R but not available on the base model LX.

Honda Clarity Fuel Cell (2017 – 2020)

The Honda Clarity Fuel Cell got some updates for 2020, and Android Auto™ integration was one of those.

You can access Google Maps™, Google Now™, music, messages, and other Google apps via the 8-inch display screen.

Honda CR-V (2017 – 2020)

While virtually every new Honda model comes with Android Auto™, not every trim level of the 2020 Honda CR V can work with Android Auto™.

The LX trim does not support Android Auto™, but the EX, EX-L, and Touring trims are all compatible.

Honda Fit (2018 – 2020)

Honda Fit got Android Auto compatibility from the 2018 model up to the latest model.

Android Auto™ is accessible on a 7-inch screen display and can be used to carry out most mobile device and Google apps functionalities.

Honda Freed (2017 – 2020)

Android Auto™ is compatible with Honda Freed 2017 to 2020 models. Older models do not support this new feature.

Honda Odyssey (2018 – 2020)

Honda Odyssey 2019 to 2020 models are compatible with Android™ 5.0 and higher.

Android Auto™ comes as a standard feature in the Odyssey EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite models.

Honda Pilot (2017 – 2020)

Android Auto™ is not really a standard feature in the Honda Pilot. It is available in the EX trim, and above, and drivers have to pay at least $3,000 more than the base price.

In the EX trim, there is a standard 8-inch touchscreen, while the base trim only has a 5-inch touchscreen.

The addition of Android Auto™ is the biggest update the 2017 Honda Pilot got, and Honda has retained the feature in subsequent models.

Honda Ridgeline (2017 – 2020)

Android Auto™ is a standard feature on the Honda Ridgeline RTL-T, RTL-E, and the Honda Ridgeline Black Edition model 2017 and subsequent models.

How Does Android Auto™ Work?

For it to work with your Android device, it has to run on the Android 5.0 version or newer and have the Android Auto app installed.

If your Honda car comes equipped with Android Auto, it will also have Bluetooth® capability to allow you to use Wireless Android Auto to connect your device wirelessly.

If you do not want to use the Bluetooth® connection, you can connect your Android phone to your Honda USB port using a USB cable. It’s very easy to use and straightforward too.
