If you’re a Grindr user, you may have heard about the Grind Web app. But what is it and does it feature anything new or exciting? We’ll get into that and much more throughout this article.

Grindr, as you may be aware, is a well-known dating application targeted at gay people, bi, trans, and queer people.

If you are a member of the LGBTQ community, it’s an app that you should definitely try out to search for interesting people.

Launched more than a decade ago, in March 2009, Grindr software is easily the most widely used gay dating app, having 3.6 million daily active users in 196 countries.

But, what if it is more convenient for you to use it on your computer rather than on a mobile device, i.e. while you’re working or studying?

Grindr Web is a web version of the application specially designed to be run in a web browser like Chrome, Firefox, or Edge on your computer.

It was created in November 2019 and it is free to use.

There has been a demand from many Grindr users and now you can be conveniently sitting at your computer’s desk and keep up the conversations with other potential partners on Grindr.

You have two methods you can go through to use Grindr Web. Once on your computer, you can scan a QR code using your phone’s installed Grindr app and log in to your account.

The second method consists of directly logging in on Grindr web by entering your registration data (email and password).

Using the QR code method:

Go to web.grindr.com/login;
Open the Grindr application on your smartphone or tablet;
Access settings (by clicking on your Grindr profile and then on the settings options) and there you’ll find an option saying “Log in to Grindr Web”;
Use your phone to scan the QR code;
In the pop-up dialog, confirm your login and you’re ready to go. Grindr will link your phone and your computer.

Using your email:

Go to web.grindr.com/login;
Fill both fields with your email address and your password;
Click on the “Login” button to proceed;
You’re done and ready to use your Grindr account on your personal computer.

Once you’ve started using Grindr Web, you’ll be able to see all your previous messages, respond to them, check profiles, and basically use Grindr as you normally would on a smart device.

User interface

Grindr Web features a friendly and discreet interface. It is intended to look like a mail client or like a work-type chat system, and you can even hide other users’ profile pics by activating “office mode” – so your boss and colleagues won’t notice you’re using Grindr at your workplace.

When you’re in the “office mode”, you can still view profile pictures by hovering the cursor over the desired profile, whether on someone’s profile or in a chat with them.

That’s a great feature that can save you from a lot of awkward situations!

The Web interface lets you use Grindr with added convenience. The benefits of having a much larger screen are obvious, and featuring a physical keyboard instead of tapping on a touchscreen adds further comfort.

With the Grindr PC version, you can chat while you browse, you can be at multiple chats at a time and view others’ pictures in a bigger format.

Requirements

Grindr Web automatically syncs with the Grindr Android or iOS application running on your phone. That way you don’t need to worry about losing any conversations or exchanging pictures.

You need to enable your GPS location data in Windows settings in order for the app to run correctly. You can opt to use a fake GPS / mock location app to override your default location and search for guys elsewhere in the world.

A fake location can also be useful to mask your true positioning for security purposes.

At present time, Grind Web is offline. Grindr developers state that they’re enhancing the service and making some critical updates to it. It will return soon in a renewed version – better than ever – they say.

Grindr’s research and development team is working on this platform and the good news is heading towards you within a short period.

Until you’re waiting for Grindr Web to be available again, you can still use Grindr on your computer by installing an Android emulator like Bluestacks or LDPlayer and then downloading the app’s Android version using the PlayStore – all on your PC.

You can also use Grindr on your computer or TV by mirroring the phone screen on a selected device. You can search the Google Play Store or App Store to find screen mirroring apps. There are a lot of great ones available.

This is an easy and quick method to be using Grindr effortlessly on a big screen.
